News for Bundesregierung spricht sich fuer Buerokratieabbau aus

Erstmals hat sich in Deutschland eine Regierung zu einem nachhaltigen Abbau der Bürokratie bekannt. Bis zu 25 Prozent an unnötigem Formularaufwand sollen bei den Behörden im Laufe der nächsten vier Jahre eingespart werden.

Die vierjährige Zielvorgabe ist ehrgeiziger als die, die für die EU vorgesehen ist: Kanzlerin Angela Merkel wird nächste Woche beim EU-Gipfel den Vorschlag zum Bürokratieabbau um ein Viertel einbringen, der jedoch nur bis ins Jahr 2012 zielt.

In Paris sind wertvolle Bilder des berühmten Malers Pablo Picasso entwendet worden. Nach Polizeiangaben soll sich der Diebstahl in der Nacht zum gestrigen Dienstag ereignet haben.

Die Bilder waren im Besitz der Enkeltochter Picassos. Vermisst werden die Bilder Maya à la poupÃe und eine Porträtzeichnung von Picassos Frau Jacqueline. Beide Bilder werden auf einen Wert von 50 Millionen Euro geschätzt.

News for USA: Katholisches Bistum muss nach ueber 150 Klagen Glaeubigerschutz beantragen

Nachdem mehr als 150 Kläger gegen das katholische Bistum in San Diego gerichtlich vorgehen wollen, sieht sich die Diözese nicht mehr in der Lage, die möglichen Kosten in Höhe von 150 Millionen Euro zu begleichen. Deshalb beantragt das Bistum nun Gläubigerschutz.

Verursacht haben diese Niederlage über 150 Klagen wegen sexuellen Missbrauchs durch Kirchenangehörige, die das Eine-Million-Mitglieder-Bistum nun vor Gericht austragen muss.

Am heutigen Mittwoch stellte die ARD-Nachrichtensprecherin und Buchautorin Eva Hermann in Berlin ihr neues Buch vor. Bei dem Werk Liebe Eva Hermann handelt es sich um eine Sammlung von Briefen an die Autorin.

Auf der Pressekonferenz zur Buchvorstellung ging es um eine 45-jährige Karrierefrau, die beim gemeinsamen Backen eines Apfelkuchens Geborgenheit findet. Der Apfelkuchen dient dabei als Symbol für familiäre Idylle.
