Trust punishment by the European Union
November 30th, 2006News for Price-fixing arrangment of the rubber industry: Trust punishment by the European Union
The European union imposed the second highest trust punishment in its history. Five rubber producers must pay altogether 519 million euro penalty. Price-fixing arrangment and allocation of customer are accused to the enterprises. The trust existed at least from 1996 to 2002 under the enterprises Bavarian, Dow Chemical, Shell, Eni, Unipetrol and trade Stomil. Since Bavarian uncovered the trust also, the Leverkusener company goes out however exempt from punishment. Eni, an Italian enterprise, is most strongly punished and is to pay 272 million. The company wants to complain against the decision from Brussels.
